Job summary

Actalent in Dublin, VA seeks a Manufacturing Engineer to lead and support the implementation, optimization, and continuous improvement of high-volume manufacturing processes on the shop floor. You will collaborate across functions to support launches, changes, and reliability, while driving safety, quality, and productivity improvements.

The role requires hands-on process engineering, Lean Six Sigma experience, and strong problem-solving skills in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Manufacturing, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 4 years of manufacturing engineering experience; 1–2 years acceptable.
• Experience in high-volume manufacturing or assembly.
• Hands-on manufacturing engineering including process engineering and production support.
• Proven process development and optimization experience.
• Lean Manufacturing experience with waste reduction and flow improvements.
• Lean Six Sigma focus for quality, cost, and productivity improvements.
• Industrial engineering with time studies, labor balancing, using MOST/MTM.
• Ability to implement new product launches and engineering changes.
• Data analysis and structured problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support new process trials and ongoing engineering support for current production.
• Document and maintain optimal production methods, standards, tooling, and equipment.
• Drive safety, ergonomics, and efficiency improvements through design and initiatives.
• Collaborate with Materials and cross‑functional teams to optimize material flow using Lean.
• Coordinate new products and engineering changes balancing work content and manpower.
• Support process development, prototype builds, and launch readiness activities.
• Identify, implement, and standardize improvements using Lean and Lean Six Sigma.
• Analyze assembly operations with data-driven methods to drive improvements.
• Develop and maintain production standards using MOST/MTM.
• Ensure adherence to engineering standards and plant procedures.
• Identify cost reductions and manpower optimization opportunities.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to other Manufacturing Engineers.
• Lead and execute engineering programs with timing and deliverables.
• Interface with plant personnel to achieve targets and balance manpower.
• Support operations by developing and optimizing processes and changes.
• Drive continuous improvement focusing on safety, quality, productivity.
