Job summary

Thermo Fisher Scientific is seeking a Corporate Development Associate to join our on-site team in Waltham, MA. You will support M&A strategy, build financial models, conduct due diligence, and help execute transactions across business units worldwide.

You will analyze industry trends, prepare strategic analyses, and assist with integration planning while collaborating with senior leaders and cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree with a major in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, science, or a technical field.
• 1+ years of experience in M&A or Strategic Planning in acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures, investments or equivalent at premier firm.
• Excellent financial and analytical skills with solid valuation and financial statement analysis fundamentals.
• Impeccable attention to detail and strong written/verbal communication.
• Experience leading multiple projects and interacting with senior executives.

Responsibilities

• Support M&A strategy objectives and track acquisition opportunities across all phases of transaction execution.
• Participate on teams evaluating M&A opportunities and leading divestitures.
• Develop strategic business justifications to obtain leadership support for M&A initiatives.
• Build and present financial models including valuation and pro forma analyses.
• Assist with due diligence and integration planning as required.
• Conduct industry and competitive research to inform leadership decisions.
• Support special projects aligned with Corporate Development goals.
