Job summary

HR On Demand is recruiting for a Logistics and Customer Manager in Austin, TX. This onsite role oversees inbound/outbound logistics, freight coordination, and customs compliance for a client in robotics and optical systems.

You will lead a small team, manage costs, and drive KPI improvements while ensuring timely delivery. The role requires 6+ years in logistics, a relevant degree, and strong negotiation skills; relocation to Austin is a plus.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in logistics, trade compliance, or supply chain management.
• Prior supervisory or above role with team responsibility.
• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, International Trade, Business Administration, or related field.
• Experience with international trade compliance and customs regulations (import/export).
• Proven track record negotiating with freight forwarders, carriers, and brokers.
• Experience designing or implementing logistics SOPs and internal controls.
• Data-driven KPI tracking and reporting.
• Strong cross-functional communication; located in or willing to relocate to Austin, TX (onsite).

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end inbound and outbound logistics operations.
• Coordinate international and domestic transportation with stakeholders.
• Oversee customs clearance and trade compliance activities.
• Prepare shipping, customs, and trade documentation accurately.
• Monitor shipment status and resolve delays or discrepancies.
• Manage logistics service providers and optimize costs.
• Develop and maintain SOPs, internal controls, and audits.
• Track and improve KPIs: on-time delivery, clearance lead time, and costs.
