Job summary

BYU-Pathway Worldwide is seeking a Translation and Localization Manager to lead multilingual content efforts in Salt Lake City. You will build workflows, manage translation teams, and align with Church standards to deliver precise, culturally sensitive materials.

The role requires coordinating across departments, implementing TMS/CAT tools, and maintaining glossaries and style guides while ensuring gospel-centered tone and quality across languages.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Translation, Linguistics, Communications, or related field.
• 5+ years of professional experience in translation/localization management or related roles.
• Fluency in English and at least two additional languages (Portuguese, Spanish, or French).
• Experience using TMS/CAT tools and managing translation memories, term bases, and glossaries.
• Experience translating and localizing academic material of higher education.

Responsibilities

• Define the long-term vision, goals, and roadmap for translation and localization within BYU-Pathway Worldwide.
• Design, document, and maintain an end-to-end translation workflow (assignment, translation, review, QA, release).
• Recruit, train, and mentor translators and linguists; establish KPIs and QA checkpoints.
• Evaluate and implement a Translation Management System (TMS) and CAT tools; manage term bases and style guides.
• Coordinate cross-departmental translation priorities and partner with CES units; ensure consistency of terminology and tone.
• Manage annual translation budgets, including contractors and licenses; prepare cost forecasts.
