Job summary

Goodwin is seeking a Research Analyst to deliver expert legal and business research for attorneys and administrative departments. You will provide training, onboarding, and consultative services while monitoring the legal industry and contributing ideas to the Research Services team.

You will collaborate to ensure timely, accurate research results, develop curricula, and create newsletters and alerts. This role supports ongoing education and intranet development within a global firm.

Qualifications

• MLS from an ALA-accredited library school (or equivalent).
• 5+ years of professional research in a private law firm, academic law library, or research center.
• Expert knowledge of diverse information sources (Westlaw, Lexis, Capital IQ, PitchBook, Intelligize, Derwent Innovation, Saegis).
• Knowledge of data analytics and AI and their impact on research processes.
• Strong interviewing, interpersonal, written and oral communication skills; ability to prioritize and work independently.

Responsibilities

• Deliver proactive, value-added legal and business research for attorneys and staff.
• Provide expert research assistance using advanced research tools and technologies.
• Maintain knowledge of internal knowledge resources to enhance deliverables.
• Analyze and present research findings to support decision-making.
• Advise on research strategy and resource selection for cost efficiency.
• Manage research projects using workflow software.
