Job summary

Goodwin is seeking a Research Analyst to provide expert legal and business research for attorneys and staff. You will train, onboard, and support educational initiatives while monitoring the research landscape and offering consultative services to advance Research Services goals.

In this role, you will leverage Westlaw, Lexis, PitchBook, Capital IQ, and other sources; you will deliver timely research, develop newsletters, and contribute to the intranet.

Qualifications

• LL.S. not required; MLS preferred with private law firm or academic library experience.
• 5+ years’ experience providing research in a private law firm, academic law library or similar setting.
• Expert knowledge of diverse information sources (Westlaw, Lexis, Capital IQ, PitchBook, Intelligize, InfoNgen, Derwent Innovation, Saegis).
• Knowledge of data analytics and AI technologies impacting research processes.
• Strong interviewing, communication, and multitasking abilities.

Responsibilities

• Delivers proactive, value-added research to the firm and attorneys.
• Provides expert legal and business research support leveraging advanced tools.
• Maintains and expands knowledge of internal knowledge resources.
• Analyzes research results and presents findings to support decisions.
• Advises on research strategy, resource selection, and cost efficiency.
• Develops training curricula and conducts onboarding for staff.
