Job summary

Verkada in San Mateo, CA is seeking a Senior Leave of Absence Associate to own and elevate our global leave programs, ensuring a seamless, empathetic experience during important life moments.

You will be the SME for leave administration, partner with People Partners, Payroll and Benefits, improve workflows with automation, build reports in Workday, and scale programs as Verkada grows. This on-site role requires 5 days a week in the office.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in global leave administration, benefits operations, or HR operations with hands-on leave ownership; 8+ years strongly preferred.
• Direct experience calculating leave top-ups for variable-compensation employees (commissions, quota, draws).
• Strong knowledge of FMLA, CFRA, ADA, PDL, PFL, workers' comp, STD/LTD, and international leave exposure.
• Proven pay audit accuracy and attention to detail; advanced Excel skills.
• Independent, end-to-end ownership of multiple workstreams in a fast-paced environment, with good judgment handling sensitive information.

Responsibilities

• Administer the full portfolio of leave programs globally.
• Own the full leave lifecycle from intake through return-to-work.
• Develop and scale international leave processes with local partners and legal.
• Support workplace accommodations with People Partners, Legal, and managers.
• Serve as liaison with disability carriers (STD/LTD), coordinating claims and benefits continuation.
• Guide employees through state benefit programs and how they interact with company policies.
• Deliver an empathetic employee experience and keep stakeholders informed throughout.
