Job summary

Airwallex is seeking aSenior - First Line Commercial Risk leader to build and lead the 1st LoD risk function. You will define risk strategy, oversee deal risk frameworks, and act as the main interface between the commercial team and risk functions. The role can be based in Singapore or San Francisco.

You will partner with Sales, Revenue Strategy, and Compliance to embed risk discipline, monitor portfolio health, and drive risk-informed commercial decisions in a fast-growing fintech environment.

Qualifications

• 10–12 years of risk management experience in financial services or fintech
• Proven ability to design and implement practical risk frameworks
• Strong communication skills for senior stakeholder conversations
• Experience interfacing with front-office or Sales teams in a 3LoD model
• Knowledge of KYC/AML, sanctions, and data privacy preferred

Responsibilities

• Define the 1st LoD risk strategy and playbooks for commercial deals
• Lead and scale the first line risk function across regions
• Coordinate with CRO, 2nd/3rd line risk, and GTM teams
• Monitor risk KPIs and portfolio health with cross-functional partners
• Drive post-mortems and governance for commercial risk decisions
