Job summary

Ball Corporation is seeking a Director, Assistant General Counsel – International Trade Compliance to lead its global ITC program. The role focuses on sanctions, export controls, customs, and related trade requirements, delivering strategic legal counsel to support compliant growth and risk reduction.

The candidate will partner with Legal, Supply Chain, Logistics, Procurement, Finance, Commercial teams, and executives to implement governance, controls, and scalable processes across Ball’s

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and bar admission.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in trade compliance.
• Expertise in anti-dumping duties, countervailing duties, Section 232 tariffs, customs, sanctions, and export controls.
• In-house counsel experience, ideally in global manufacturing.
• Ability to influence senior stakeholders and lead cross-functional initiatives.
• Experience with ITC laws such as OFAC, EAR, and ITAR.

Responsibilities

• Lead Ball’s global ITC program governance and operating model.
• Translate regulatory requirements into scalable business controls across regions.
• Develop, enhance, and maintain ITC risk controls, policies, and tools.
• Manage investigations and disclosures to government entities, including external counsel.
• Collaborate with Supply Chain, Procurement, Finance, Commercial, and regional leadership to embed trade compliance.
• Monitor regulatory changes and advise business strategy for compliant growth.
