Job summary

Ball Corporation seeks a Director, Assistant General Counsel – International Trade Compliance to lead Ball’s global trade compliance program across sanctions, export controls, customs, tariffs, and related requirements. You will partner with Legal, Supply Chain, Procurement, and Finance to ensure compliant growth and risk mitigation across Ball’s manufacturing and supply chain operations.

Qualifications

• JD from an accredited law school and active membership in good standing with at least one U.S. state bar.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in trade compliance.
• Expertise in sanctions, export controls, customs, tariffs, and ITC.
• In-house counsel experience in global manufacturing or complex supply chains.
• Ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and influence senior stakeholders.
• Experience implementing or administering trade compliance technology solutions.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the internal legal SME on global trade laws impacting Ball’s aluminum packaging.
• Lead development and operation of Ball’s ITC program and operating model.
• Establish and reinforce a culture of compliance across regions and functions.
• Design, manage, and sustain ITC risk controls, policies, and training.
• Lead investigations and disclosures to U.S. and foreign regulators.
• Monitor regulatory changes and advise on business strategy; provide practical legal counsel on tariffs and sanctions.
• Oversee risk assessments, audits, metrics, and continuous improvement of the program.
• Partner with Supply Chain, Logistics, Procurement, Finance, Commercial, and leadership to embed ITC in end-to-end processes.
