Job summary

Jobgether is seeking a Director, Assistant General Counsel – International Trade Compliance based in the United States. You will lead a global trade compliance program spanning sanctions, export controls, customs, and related regulations, translating complex rules into practical business solutions.

The role requires JD, U.S. bar admission, and 10+ years in international trade compliance, with demonstrated leadership of cross-functional teams and global investigations.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and active bar membership in good standing.
• At least 10 years of progressive experience in international trade compliance.
• Expertise in anti-dumping, countervailing duties, Section 232 tariffs, customs compliance, sanctions, and export controls.
• Strong knowledge of OFAC, EAR, ITAR, and other regulatory regimes.
• In-house or global manufacturing/supply chain experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and continuous improvement of the global international trade compliance program, including governance, standards, escalation pathways, and accountability frameworks.
• Serve as the internal legal SME on international trade regulations affecting global manufacturing and supply chain activities.
• Design and oversee trade compliance policies, playbooks, risk controls, and technology solutions across global operations.
• Investigate, escalate, and remediate potential compliance issues with corrective actions.
• Develop and deliver risk-based compliance training for executives and teams across functional areas.
• Lead investigations and coordinate with government authorities and external counsel on disclosures and submissions.
• Monitor regulatory developments and advise stakeholders on changes to trade laws and sanctions.
• Oversee risk assessments, audits, remediation plans, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Establish and monitor KPIs to report risks, trends, and remediation progress.
• Collaborate with Supply Chain, Logistics, Procurement, Finance, Tax, and regional leadership to embed compliance in end-to-end processes.
