Job summary

OpenAI is seeking an IT Logistics Lead in San Francisco to manage a global team responsible for keeping employees equipped for critical work. You will own hardware catalogs, fulfillment programs, asset management, and regional operating models, delivering day‑1 readiness worldwide and accurate inventory records.

You will coach team members, set priorities with your manager, and work hands-on on execution and escalations to improve speed, accuracy, and shrinkage while aligning with engineering,

• Delivered automation and AI-enabled workflows in daily operations, with measurable results.
• Managed people through rising demand and changing priorities, coaching for skills and ownership.

Responsibilities

• Own a hardware and peripheral catalog that keeps pace with employee needs, with new equipment options and devices ready for use with current, validated software images and configurations.
• Deliver day 1 readiness globally, with equipment suited to each employee’s location and work. Ensure timely fulfillment, refreshes, replacements, loaners, telecom and mobility, and high-risk travel services as offices and programs expand.
• Own asset accountability across the full lifecycle, with 100% accurate records that reconcile to physical inventory and trusted chain of custody from receipt through recovery, reuse and secure disposition.
• Own forecasting, capacity and logistics performance to continually improve accuracy, shorten lead times and keep equipment available. Control lifecycle costs, reduce excess stock and waste, and maintain service through supply disruptions.
• Use the company products, including Codex and agents, as customer zero to solve previously unresolved logistics problems and improve accuracy, speed and scale, with appropriate evaluation, security and human oversight.
• Manage and develop team members so each person builds skills, takes ownership and delivers excellent work.
