Job summary

SMC Corporation seeks a Global IT Data Center Engineer to ensure uptime and performance of data center infrastructure across campus and remote offices. You will work with an advanced team to deploy servers, virtualization, storage, and monitoring, while adhering to security policies and optimizing IT infrastructure.

The role requires 5+ years of enterprise networking experience, VMware expertise, Windows Server and Active Directory skills, and familiarity with cloud providers and data protection

Qualifications

• Associate degree or related education/work experience.
• 5+ years of IT enterprise networking experience.
• Experience with VMware vSphere and multi-site deployments.
• Experience with Windows Server, Active Directory, GPOs, SCCM, O365.
• Experience with MFA and security solutions (Okta, PAM).
• Basic networking knowledge (VLANs, DNS, DHCP).
• Experience with cloud providers (AWS/Azure/Google).
• Experience with data protection platforms (Rubrik, Dell PowerProtect, Data Domain).
• Ability to document and analyze systems effectively.

Responsibilities

• Provide support for current and future enterprise systems.
• Adhere to security policies, procedures, and standards.
• Participate in IT infrastructure implementations, forecasting, and maintenance.
• Design, deploy, and manage servers, virtualization, storage, and monitoring.
• Deploy servers and virtual environments (VMware, Windows, Linux).
• Research and recommend new third-party products related to data center ops.
• Create and maintain global data center knowledge base documentation.
• Perform backup, recovery, and DR testing and respond to incidents.
• Travel and cross-site collaboration as required.
