Mondelēz International is seeking an experienced Sr. Patent Counsel to join our in-house IP team in East Hanover, NJ or Chicago, IL (Hybrid). You will lead U.S.

patent preparation, prosecution, and portfolio strategy to protect iconic brands across a global snacking portfolio. The ideal candidate holds a J.D., USPTO registration, 4+ years in patent prosecution, and 2+ years in-house experience, with strong collaboration skills with R&D, marketing, and legal teams.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school.
• Registered to practice before the USPTO.
• Active member in good standing of a U.S. state bar.
• Minimum of 4 years of patent prosecution experience in a law firm.
• Minimum of 2 years in-house patent counsel experience.
• Experience managing U.S. patent prosecution from invention disclosure to grant.
• Experience managing global patent portfolios across multiple jurisdictions.
• Experience leading invention harvesting sessions with R&D and marketing stakeholders.

Responsabilités

• Draft, file, and prosecute U.S. patent applications across core technology areas.
• Coordinate global patent prosecution with foreign counsel (EP, CN, IN, BR, MX, JP).
• Develop and execute patent filing strategies aligned with innovation priorities.
