Job summary

Emeritus in Boston, MA seeks an experienced Instructional Designer to design online and blended certificate programs with university partners. You will join the Global Design Team across the US, India, and globally, shaping courses that meet world‑class standards.

The role emphasizes backward design, learning outcomes, assessments, and collaboration with faculty. Travel may be required for faculty filming, and you will help supervise contract designers and beta testers to ensure timely delivery.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years of experience working with faculty in higher education.
• Knowledge of evidence-based instructional design practices and processes.
• Expertise in Backward Design, needs analysis and measurement of active learner responding.
• Knowledge of assessment and evaluation methods and analysis of learner performance data.
• Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with university faculty to design digital and blended learning experiences.
• Conduct Backward Design sessions to anchor program learning outcomes.
• Define course elements including learning outcomes, competencies, assessments, and activities.
• Coordinate with Global Design and Global Delivery teams to ensure design quality and smooth operation.
• Provide guidance on evidence-based instructional design practices.
• Adhere to course design schedules and cross-functional goals.
• Support positive faculty relationships and client-focused collaboration.
• Deliver projects on time in a fast-paced global environment.
• Advocate for learner value and align programs with current trends.
