Job summary

Optimum is seeking an Instructional Design Manager to lead the design, development, and improvement of learning solutions for Customer Care and Customer Retention teams in New York. You will own onboarding, upskilling, leadership development, and global learning initiatives.

The role partners with operations, SMEs, and external vendors to deliver scalable programs that drive performance and customer outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Adult Learning, or related field.
• Experience leading instructional design teams.
• Experience designing for international/global audiences.
• Vendor-supported learning environments.
• Proficiency with ADDIE, SAM, rapid prototyping and evaluation methods.
• Experience with blended learning (ILT, VILT, eLearning, simulations).

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end curriculum strategy across onboarding, upskilling, and leadership development.
• Apply adult learning theory to create relevant, measurable experiences.
• Design for international audiences including localization and cultural considerations.
• Coach and quality-manage internal and vendor designers and learning specialists.
• Partner with operations, SMEs, and leaders to plan programs and objectives.
• Create blended learning solutions across ILT, VILT, eLearning, simulations, and more.
• Translate complex products into learner-friendly content tied to outcomes.
• Measure effectiveness using data, KPIs, and stakeholder feedback.
• Ensure brand, accessibility, and learner experience standards.
• Manage multiple projects, timelines, and stakeholder expectations.
• Evaluate new learning technologies to improve speed and scalability.
