Job summary

Reading Bakery Systems seeks an Installation Technician to join our Project Services Division. You will travel worldwide to install, commission, start up, and optimize industrial baking and mixing equipment, and support through commissioning and warranty.

You’ll work with customers, engineers, and project managers to troubleshoot challenges, fine-tune performance, and ensure safe, reliable production. A technical background and travel readiness are required.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in a technical field or equivalent hands-on experience.
• 3+ years of industrial equipment installation, commissioning, or startup experience.
• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills, including familiarity with PLCs, VFDs, and industrial control systems.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, P&IDs, and mechanical drawings.
• Experience with TIG, MIG, and stick welding.
• Willingness to travel extensively domestically and internationally; passport required.
• Valid driver’s license and driving record.
• Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification.
• Ability to work independently, stay organized, and communicate effectively with customers and internal teams.
• Familiarity with Reading Bakery Systems or Exact Mixing equipment.

Responsibilities

• Install and commission industrial baking and mixing equipment at customer facilities.
• Support startup, testing, and operational verification to ensure production, quality, and safety standards.
• Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and controls issues during installation and startup.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, P&IDs, and mechanical drawings.
• Perform field modifications, alignments, adjustments, and system calibrations.
• Fine-tune ovens, dryers, conveyors, mixers, and ingredient handling systems.
• Train and support customer operators and maintenance personnel during installation and startup.
• Collaborate with engineering, project management, and customer teams to resolve challenges.
• Complete commissioning, startup, and service documentation using Microsoft Office and company software.
• Follow safety requirements including lockout/tagout procedures.
