Job summary

United States Digital Space LLC is seeking a Logistics & Import Officer to manage the importation of goods from suppliers to production sites. You will coordinate shipments, prepare documentation, and work with freight forwarders and customs to ensure timely arrivals.

This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and knowledge of import procedures, with collaboration across procurement, logistics, and finance teams to maintain compliant and efficient supply chains.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, International Business, or a related field is preferred.
• 2-3 years in import/export, logistics, or supply chain management.
• Familiarity with import/export documentation, customs regulations, tariffs, and international shipping procedures.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with logistics software or ERP systems (preferred).
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for liaising with international suppliers and internal teams.

Responsibilities

• Documentation Preparation: Prepare and process essential import documents, including purchase orders, commercial invoices, packing lists, and customs clearance forms.
• Supplier Coordination: Communicate with international suppliers to obtain necessary documentation like certificates of origin and shipping instructions.
• Customs Clearance: Collaborate with customs brokers or agents to facilitate smooth customs clearance.
• Shipping & Transportation Coordination: Arrange transportation of goods from ports to designated locations in collaboration with freight forwarders.
• Inventory Management: Update inventory records upon shipment arrivals and ensure stock levels are accurate for production or distribution.
• Compliance Management: Stay updated on import regulations, tariffs, and trade agreements to ensure shipments meet legal requirements.
• Problem Solving: Address issues like customs delays, damaged goods, or documentation discrepancies and communicate with stakeholders.
• Cross-Department Communication: Collaborate with procurement, logistics, finance, and supply chain teams to provide shipment updates.
• Data Entry & Reporting: Enter import-related data into company systems and generate reports on volumes, costs, and compliance metrics.
