CEVA Logistics in Springfield Gardens, NY is hiring an Import Agent to manage inbound freight from origins, handling paperwork, waybills, and pricing while ensuring compliance with tariffs and customs. You'll work with cross-border teams to keep shipments moving smoothly.

Ideal candidates have a HS diploma, at least six months of related experience, strong analytical and PC skills, and a customer-focused mindset.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required with 6 months to 1 year of related experience.
• Customer-focused with strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Basic knowledge of sea freight processes and customs procedures.

Responsibilities

• Receives inbound shipments and handles documentation and waybills.
• Responds to inquiries via fax, email, or phone.
• Negotiates with customers to resolve issues and reach mutual agreements.
• Reviews invoices and manifests for tariff compliance.
• Notifies consignees of delays and provides PODs when requested.
• Converts foreign currency figures to USD and assists with duties.
