Job summary

JAS Forwarding is seeking an Import Operations Specialist to coordinate air and ocean imports and support customs activities. You will ensure timely clearance, accurate documentation, and strong customer service while liaising with CBP, carriers, and internal teams.

The role requires experience in import operations, familiarity with CBP regulations, and proficiency with CargoWise One and SAP/Cognos. Office-based position with competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Three+ years of import operations or related experience.
• Strong knowledge of CBP requirements and ISF/Incoterms preferred.
• Experience with CargoWise One (C1), SAP or Cognos is a plus.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills; detail-oriented.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate full lifecycle of air and ocean import shipments from origin to final delivery.
• Prepare and process import documents: invoices, packing lists, B/Ls, notices, customs docs.
• Process customs entries and ensure timely submission of data.
• Review classifications, valuations, and compliance per CBP and agencies.
• Communicate shipment status and clearance requirements with customers.
