Overview.ai is expanding its HR function to support rapid global growth. This Lead role diagnoses gaps, owns HR for the China team, and builds scalable programs that enable compliant operations across multiple countries.

You will report to the Head of Global Recruiting and manage 1–2 direct reports in China and Taiwan. Expect 15–40% travel depending on location, with SF hybrid work reducing travel to about 15%.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in HR with hands-on ownership of compliance and HR operations.
• Direct China HR experience including labor contracts and social insurance.
• Global HR compliance across multiple countries including employment law and contracts.
• US HR compliance across federal and multi-state requirements.

Responsabilités

• Own global HR compliance across all countries of operation; identify and close gaps.
• Lead HR for the China team; partner with Shanghai HR & Admin Manager on day-to-day execution.
• Design scalable onboarding, offboarding, contracts, leave, payroll inputs, and performance management processes.
• Build a global policy framework and country-specific addenda in a handbook.
• Support international expansion including entity vs. EOR decisions and employment setup.
• Be the go-to resource for managers on employee relations, performance, and policy questions.
• Maintain accurate, reportable, and audit-ready employee data and records.
• Manage vendors for EOR, payroll, benefits, and employment counsel.
