Citi is seeking a Managing Director, Global Head of Sanctions Operations, in New York. You will lead the global sanctions program, drive transformation, and partner with Compliance, Risk, Legal, and Technology to ensure best-in-class controls and client outcomes.

The role requires extensive leadership of global operations in a regulated institution, with a focus on automation, analytics, and policy governance across geographies.

Qualifications

  • 15+ years of leadership experience in sanctions, AML, or related financial crimes fields.
  • Experience leading large-scale, global operations within highly regulated banks.
  • Deep knowledge of OFAC, UN, EU, UK, and other major sanctions regimes.
  • Proven track record delivering transformation, automation, and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Lead global Sanctions Operations with an emphasis on regulatory compliance and client outcomes.
  • Define and execute strategic vision for sanctions operations aligning with risk objectives.
  • Drive automation, AI, analytics and digitization to improve efficiency and resilience.
  • Partner with Compliance, Risk, Legal, Audit and product/technology teams to deliver priorities.
  • Maintain governance, controls and performance metrics across regions and lines of business.
