Job summary

Vercel seeks a Global Head of Professional Services to build and lead our TAM and Forward Deployed Engineering teams. You will embed with strategic customers to design, build, and ship production apps on Next.js and our agent stack, shaping engagement, delivery, and commercial models.

You will report to the Global Head of Field Engineering and collaborate with GTM and Product leadership to turn complex deployments into scalable success across major accounts.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in software engineering, forward deployed engineering, or technical consulting roles with 5+ years leading customer-facing delivery teams.
• Experience building a function, team, or service line from zero, including hiring and operating model.
• Strong background in modern web technologies (JavaScript/TypeScript, React, Next.js, Node.js, cloud) for architecture reviews.
• Experience building or deploying LLM-powered applications and understanding model-driven decisions.
• Commercial acumen: scoped, priced, and delivered technical engagements for enterprise customers.
• Proven success embedding with customer engineering teams to deliver complex production systems.

Responsibilities

• Build, lead, and develop the global Professional Services team, including hiring standards and compensation.
• Define the engagement model, staffing, sequencing, and qualification for embedded support.
• Own delivery excellence from discovery to production deployment and stabilization.
• Establish the commercial model: packaging, pricing, capacity planning, and resource allocation.
• Stay hands-on with architecture reviews, system design, and removing blockers with the team.
• Define handoff protocols with Forward Deployed Engineering, TAMs, Solutions Architects, and partners.
• Codify learnings into repeatable playbooks and reference architectures.
• Synthesize customer insights into product feedback and report outcomes to leadership.
