Job summary

Invoca is seeking a Founding Head of Forward Deployed Engineering to build and lead a customer-facing technical team embedded in our Go-to-Market motion. You’ll hire, coach, and drive how engineering supports deals and onboarding, balancing pipeline impact with team health as the function scales.

Qualifications

• Experience leading customer-facing technical teams.
• Proven leadership in technical/customer-facing capacity.
• Strong business judgment for prioritizing deals with engineering effort.

Responsibilities

• Hire, coach, and manage a team of Forward Deployed Engineers.
• Prioritize deployment across the deal pipeline and allocate engineering resources.
• Serve as senior technical escalation point on strategic or high-stakes deals.
• Partner with Sales, Solutions Engineering, and Customer Success to align on GTM timing.
• Define PoCs scope, debrief wins/losses, and capture reusable assets.
• Feed field feedback to product/engineering with actionable requests.
• Report team impact: deals influenced, time-to-value, win rates.
• Plan headcount and capacity and decide on growth locations.
