Job summary

BioCryst Pharmaceuticals, Inc. seeks a VP, Global Clinical Development to provide strategic direction and operational leadership for clinical programs across drug development stages. You will work with senior leadership and product teams to deliver high-quality results and accelerate development timelines.

The role requires deep scientific expertise, patient-centric approach, and ability to manage matrix teams, budgets, and outsourcing while driving regulatory alignment across assets.

Qualifications

• MD with a minimum of 10 years pharmaceutical development experience.
• Minimum 5 years in a senior management role or equivalent.
• Experience in sponsor and/or CRO environments with drug development oversight.
• Ability to lead clinical development programs across multiple assets and indications.

Responsibilities

• Accountable for performance against key trial metrics and program objectives.
• Leads and directs changes to scale clinical development functions and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Manages budgets, staffing, and outsourcing strategy for clinical programs.
• Partners with senior management to strengthen trial design, regulatory pathways, and patient-centric initiatives.
• Ensures quality systems, SOPs, and inspection readiness across trials.
