Responsibilities

• Liaises with Warehouse Supervisor, Logistics Manager, Procurement Coordinators, and vessel/land teams.
• Keeps up to date with internal guidelines, customs and hazardous goods regulations, and maintains certifications.
• Coordinate outgoing air and ocean shipments ensuring compliance with DOT, IATA, ICAO, IMDG for hazmat.
• Ensure hazmat packaging, labeling and documentation; maintain records of hazmat materials.
• Select shipping methods for standard, cold chain and hazmat shipments to optimize cost and delivery time.
• Track shipments, update shipment tracker, and communicate issues to Logistics Manager.
• Oversee Mail Room staff in absence of Logistics Manager.
• Maintain alignment with Mercy Ships Core Values and Compass policies.
