Job summary

Stripe is seeking an Accounting Manager for the General Ledger team to lead key close processes, advise on complex accounting judgments, and uphold internal controls. You will collaborate closely with Finance, Treasury, Legal, and other teams to drive scalable, automated processes and accurate financial reporting.

The role emphasizes strong people leadership, experience with US GAAP, and a track record of improving accounting systems and controls in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive public accounting and/or industry experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, with a CPA or equivalent professional qualification.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and ability to research complex accounting conclusions.
• Experience designing and implementing internal controls in a SOX or similar environment.
• Experience improving accounting processes or systems using large data sets.
• Strong leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead a high-performing GL team and set priorities for close processes.
• Own monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities including journal entries and reconciliations.
• Provide oversight on complex accounting matters and maintain internal controls.
• Partner with Finance, Treasury, People, Legal, and other teams to support initiatives.
• Build scalable processes to shorten close, improve accuracy, and auditability.
• Champion use of financial systems, data, automation, and AI with proper controls.
