Job summary

GE Vernova is seeking a Lead Generator Diagnostics and Robotics Specialist to provide technical leadership in advanced electro-mechanical testing, robotic-assisted inspections, and generator diagnostics at fossil and nuclear power stations worldwide.

You will install and maintain SLMS and other monitoring systems, analyze data to assess turbine-generator health, and mentor field teams while ensuring safety, quality, and schedule adherence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with at least 5 years of field experience in electronics, electrical, or mechanical tech.
• Expertise in generator design principles and generator operation.
• Advanced knowledge of generator monitoring systems (SLMS, PD, vibration sensors, accelerometers).
• Proficient in torsional vibration measurement techniques and robotic inspection deployment.
• Strong analytical skills in rotational velocity and sensor-driven data.
• Willingness to travel globally up to 70% and work in high-pressure environments.

Responsibilities

• Conduct or direct critical generator tests, including SLMS commissioning and troubleshooting.
• Perform RVM torsional vibration measurements with data acquisition and analysis.
• Deploy robotic inspection systems for internal generator assessments and report findings.
• Provide technical leadership and training to junior staff onsite.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams to meet safety, quality, and schedule commitments.
• Maintain field data, diagnostic logs, and project documentation.
