Job summary

Chubb Overseas General is seeking a senior actuarial leader to head overseas general reserving and reporting in Philadelphia, reporting to the Chief Actuary of COG. The role manages a small team and collaborates with teams across the US, UK, Europe, and Asia to ensure reserve integrity and analytical excellence.

The candidate will own loss reserving and financial reporting, drive process improvements, and coordinate with Finance for forecasting.

Qualifications

• FCAS or ACAS designation (or international equivalent).
• 15+ years of broad actuarial experience across a wide range of property & casualty lines, with deep expertise in reserving practices.
• Exceptional written and oral communication skills — able to distill complex analysis into executive-ready narratives.
• Decisive leadership style balanced with intellectual openness and curiosity.

Responsibilities

• Own COG actuarial loss reserving, planning, and financial reporting processes for senior leadership.
• Partner with regional teams to capture inputs and share actionable insights with management.
• Prepare summaries of reserve studies and current analyses supporting quarterly close and monthly monitoring.
• Conduct ad-hoc reserve and loss ratio studies to monitor activity and adequacy.
• Ensure documentation and booking of actions approved by committees in reports.
• Collaborate with Finance to communicate drivers of loss ratio variances in forecasting.
• Lead efforts to improve reserving processes, methodologies, and tools.
• Support external reserve reviews and implement modifications to reserving processes.
