Job summary

Goldman Sachs Controllers is responsible for the financial control and reporting obligations of a global, regulated financial institution. The team analyzes financial information, safeguards assets, and maintains strong relations with regulators and auditors.

This role focuses on overseeing asset management, private funds, valuations, NAVs, and fund launches/liquidations with cross-divisional collaboration.

Qualifications

• 4-7 years of related experience.
• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting.
• Master's Degree in Accounting preferred.
• CA with experience in alternative investments / private funds market and process management desired.
• Basic knowledge of financial statements preparation & review; US GAAP and IFRS knowledge; coordination with Big 4 during audits.
• Knowledge of financial products like interest rate swaps, CDS, currency options.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• MS Office knowledge (Word, Excel) required.
• Able to grasp new concepts quickly and work in a team.
• Able to handle multiple tasks and prioritize.
• Excellent interpersonal, client relationship and communication skills.
• Self-starter, inquisitive, enthusiastic with a strong analytical mind-set.

Responsibilities

• Safeguard the assets and reputation of the firm by controlling and supporting the asset management division, as well as ensuring compliance with firm policies and global regulations.
• Review quarterly / monthly valuations and NAVs for private equity and hedge funds; review year-end financial statements and perform related activities.
• Support the fund launch and liquidation processes.
• Handle corporate, regulatory and management reporting for funds.
• Work closely with other divisions, fund administrators and auditors.
