Job summary

Solvenow Inc. in Kansas City, MO, seeks a Senior Global Freight & Logistics Specialist to lead multi-modal transportation planning for construction projects. You will coordinate shipments domestically and internationally, optimize costs, and ensure compliance with safety and QA/QC standards.

You will negotiate with carriers, monitor performance, mentor junior staff, and drive improvements across logistics processes to support schedules and budget targets.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree or equivalent experience with 7+ years in transportation and logistics management.
• Experience handling heavy equipment or complex projects preferred.
• Strong knowledge of transport contracts, import/export compliance, and international freight.
• Familiarity with CTL, HazMat, IATA, IMDG, DOT regulations and Incoterms.
• Excellent multitasking, analytical, problem-solving and organizational skills.
• Strong communication skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Lead coordination of multi-modal transportation bookings and shipments for domestic and international projects.
• Collaborate with suppliers, freight forwarders, and customs brokers to ensure cross-border efficiency.
• Provide insights on shipping costs, logistics performance, and budgeting.
• Source, negotiate, and maintain transportation service provider agreements.
• Assist project planning with transportation studies and pricing.
• Develop and optimize project-specific logistics plans to support timelines and cost efficiency.
• Monitor shipments for timely and complete delivery.
• Maintain clear communication with shippers, carriers, and consignees.
• Recommend and implement enhanced logistics systems and processes.
• Analyze carrier performance trends and drive cost containment.
• Audit freight invoices, resolve billing issues, and approve releases.
• Provide guidance to junior staff and ensure QA/QC compliance.
