Job summary

Shield AI is seeking an experienced Senior Director of Flight Operations to lead the global employment of V-BAT aircraft, including Flight Test, Deployed Operations, Mission Control, and Training. You will ensure safety, readiness, and efficiency while aligning with enterprise priorities and growth initiatives.

The role requires 15+ years in military/advanced aviation leadership, a strong grasp of regulatory frameworks, and a track record of scaling distributed teams to meet challenging mission

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Aviation Management, Aerospace Engineering, Business, Operations Management, Military Science, or related field.
• Demonstrated 15+ years of progressive leadership experience in military aviation, commercial aerospace, defense, or advanced aviation operations.
• Experience leading large multidisciplinary aviation organizations and executive leadership.
• Strong understanding of aircraft operations, risk management, mission planning, aviation safety, and governance.
• Experience balancing customer commitments, engineering schedules, and business objectives.

Responsibilities

• Lead and scale the Flight Operations organization across Flight Test, Deployed Operations, Mission Control, and Training.
• Establish enterprise governance and operating standards for V-BAT operations across the Aircraft Division.
• Oversee execution of flight testing, demonstrations, and training events.
• Provide executive oversight of Mission Control and fleet employment to support strategic business objectives.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to align fleet availability, maintenance, and customer support with demand.
• Drive continuous improvement and operational excellence across global operations.
