Job summary

Shield AI, based in the United States, seeks an experienced Senior Software Engineer to lead the technical delivery of autonomy capabilities for V-BAT and X-BAT platforms. You will define interfaces, drive integration, and mentor engineers, coordinating with Aircraft, Autonomy Capabilities, Perception, GCS, and ACP teams.

You will guide mission readiness for customer deployments, contribute to system architecture, and foster engineering excellence across the Expeditionary portfolio.

Qualifications

• BS/MS in relevant engineering or equivalent experience.
• 7+ years of relevant experience.
• Expert C++ and Linux development.
• Leader with autonomy/embedded software integration experience.
• Experience influencing multiple engineering teams.
• Experience supporting operational tests or deployments.
• Ability to obtain a SECRET clearance.

Responsibilities

• Lead the technical delivery of complex autonomy capabilities from architecture through field deployment.
• Own integration across platforms and partner with Aircraft, Autonomy Capabilities, Perception, and GCS teams.
• Drive mission readiness for customer releases and field demonstrations.
• Mentor engineers and improve engineering practices across Expeditionary portfolio.
