Shield AI seeks an Aerospace Engineer to own flight performance, endurance, and mass properties for V-BAT. You will translate flight dynamics and environmental conditions into validated models guiding design decisions, payload integration, and autonomous flight software.

You will work with design, propulsion, guidance and controls, flight test, and GTM teams to improve aircraft capability and reliability, including payload evaluation and cross-functional impact assessments.

Qualifications

• BS in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent field.
• 3+ years in aerospace/defense industry with flight dynamics exposure.
• Proficiency in analyzing large data sets to validate models (Python/MATLAB).

Responsibilities

• Own flight performance, endurance, and mass properties for V-BAT.
• Develop aero/engine models for guidance and controls teams.
• Plan flight test campaigns and validate model vs. flight data.
• Collaborate with design teams to assess weight, drag, and performance.
