Shield AI seeks an Aerospace Engineer to own flight performance, endurance, and mass properties for V-BAT. Qualifications

• B.S. in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).
• 3+ years in aerospace/defense industry.
• Experience with data analysis to define envelopes and validate models.
• Experience with weight and CG models.
• Ability to work with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Performance, endurance, and mass properties analysis for V-BAT.
• Own weight and CG model, tracking and reporting through design changes.
• Develop and maintain aero and engine models for guidance and controls.
• Collaborate with mechanical and propulsion engineers on design changes.
• Evaluate payloads and configurations for endurance and performance.
• Plan and drive flight test campaigns to validate models and envelopes.
• Perform root cause analysis of performance anomalies and drive corrective actions.
• Define operational envelopes and performance specs from data.
