Job summary

The Hartford is seeking an experienced Associate Actuary in our Global Specialty US Actuarial pricing team. You will help develop pricing methodologies, monitor profitability, and support rate filings for the Financial Lines book, collaborating with Underwriting, Finance and IT.

The role requires 4+ years of P&C actuarial experience, strong analytical skills, and proficiency in Excel; R/SQL is a plus. Hybrid/remote options within Hartford, Chicago or Charlotte offices are available.

Qualifications

• ACAS or near-ACAS preferred.
• 4+ years of Property and Casualty actuarial experience.
• Knowledge of actuarial pricing and reserving techniques.
• Strong technical/analytical skills; proficiency in Excel; R/SQL preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop, enhance and maintain actuarial pricing methods and tools for underwriting and product teams.
• Assist price monitoring, loss ratio planning, profitability studies and rate filings as applicable.
• Contribute to semi-annual reserve studies and financial planning analyses.
• Present analyses and recommendations to business partners to guide decisions.
