Job summary

The Hartford in Chicago is seeking an AD & Associate Actuary (AS07AE) to develop internal modeled rate level indications and support pricing strategies across Spectrum and E&S products. You will use SQL, Python, and other tools to enhance analytics and mentor junior team members.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• 4+ years of actuarial experience.
• 6-7 actuarial exams completed.
• Strong analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop internal modeled rate level indications to inform product rate strategy.
• Continuously evolve the Spectrum class plan through improvements to pricing segmentation via additional granularity and new variable introduction.
• Advance analytic and monitoring capabilities for the E&S product offering.
• Think creatively to enhance or automate long-standing actuarial methodology using more contemporary techniques.
• Help develop countrywide rate strategy for the various Spectrum products.
• Engage in continuous learning and professional development opportunities to stay updated with industry trends and best practices.
