Job summary

SPI Pharma, Inc. seeks a Global Financial Controller to lead global accounting, consolidation, and financial reporting. This role ensures timely close, robust internal controls, and regulatory compliance across SPI’s worldwide operations.

Reporting to the CFO, you will manage a Wilmington-based team of five with dotted-line leads globally, partner with FP&A, operations, and ABFI stakeholders, and drive ERP and process improvements while maintaining high standards of accuracy and governance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field is required.
• 10+ years of progressive accounting and finance leadership experience.
• Proven experience leading global accounting and consolidation functions.
• Experience working with multinational organizations.
• Experience managing statutory reporting requirements and audits.
• Strong background in manufacturing environments preferred.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and US GAAP.
• Deep understanding of internal controls and governance frameworks.
• Advanced financial reporting / consolidation experience.
• Advanced excel and financial analysis skills.
• Strong business acumen beyond finance.
• Experience with ERP implementations preferred (D365/JDE/ADAGE).

Responsibilities

• Lead SPI Pharma’s global accounting, consolidation and financial reporting processes.
• Lead, develop and mentor the global accounting organization based in Wilmington and site controllers worldwide.
• Ensure timely, accurate and compliant month-end and year-end close activities.
• Maintain a strong internal control environment and compliance with accounting standards and ABF requirements.
• Own accounting policy and technical accounting matters.
• Serve as the key contact for audit activities and statutory reporting globally.
• Partner with CFO on cash management, treasury activities and FX governance.
• Drive balance sheet discipline and financial risk management practices.
• Collaborate with finance and cross-functional teams to support business performance.
• Lead finance process improvements and ERP transformation initiatives.
• Foster accountability, continuous improvement, and high performance.
