Job summary

FMH Conveyors’ Lifecycle Services is seeking a Field Service Technician to support installation, start-up/commissioning, preventive maintenance, and repairs at customer sites. The role requires travel up to 80% and involves audits, training, and upgrades to OEM equipment.

You will perform mechanical and electrical modifications, including PLC programs, and interact with customers to ensure proper operation and maintenance, with safety and documentation as priorities.

Qualifications

• AAS or BS in Mechatronics, EE, EET, EECS, or Industrial Electronics is desired.
• 3 years’ experience with mechanical, electrical, pneumatic components, and HMI.
• 3 years’ experience diagnosing, troubleshooting, emergency service and repairing electronics and mechanical machine problems in the field.
• AB CompactLogix PLC and RSLogix500/5000 programming experience including minor modifications to PLC programs.
• Interpret complex technical information involving mechanics and electronics, including schematics.
• VFD parameter configuration and servo drives/motors configurations.
• Valid driver's license and ability to qualify for a US passport.

Responsibilities

• Conduct field service calls for installation, commissioning, emergency repair, preventive maintenance, audits, retrofits, and training.
• Perform mechanical and electrical modifications including PLC programs and servo drive configuration.
• Conduct site visits and training with customer personnel to ensure proper operation and maintenance.
• Achieve service delivery goals: response time, first-time fix, customer satisfaction.
• Communicate with field service management and internal support to resolve issues.
• Provide equipment reliability feedback to quality engineering for improvements.
• Ensure paperwork, timesheets, CRM entries, expenses are completed accurately.
• Periodically perform technical support at Lifecycle Services HQ.
