Job summary

Our Newark, CA facility is seeking a hands-on Field Service Engineer to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair complex high-voltage electronic systems for global customers. The role requires extensive travel and direct customer engagement, delivering responsive service and technical expertise.

You will work across power supplies, interlock systems, thermal controls, and RF components, read schematics, and document service activities.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Electronics Technology, Electrical Engineering Technology, or equivalent military/industry experience.
• Minimum 5 years of hands-on field service, maintenance, or electronic systems troubleshooting.
• Experience with linear accelerators, high-voltage power supplies, modulators, klystrons, SSPAs, or TWTAs, RF systems and interlocks.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
• Valid driver''s license.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in physically demanding environments including confined spaces and elevated areas.
• Willingness and ability to travel extensively, including international travel.

Responsibilities

• Install, startup, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of high-voltage power supplies and interlock systems.
• Maintain and diagnose thermal control and cooling systems.
• Diagnose electrical and thermal issues at system and component levels.
• Verify system performance using schematics and service manuals.
• Troubleshoot cooling and thermal issues, including alarms and sensor failures.
• Safely work around high-voltage and high-power equipment following safety protocols.
• Maintain accurate service documentation and field reports.
• Support bench-level testing and repair when not deployed onsite.
