Job summary

Ascent Aerospace is seeking a seasoned Field Service Engineer to diagnose and repair complex industrial control systems in aerospace applications. You will support customer maintenance teams, travel to sites for commissioning, maintenance, and upgrades, and coordinate with project managers, sales staff, and manufacturing operations.

Preferred candidates have 5–10 years of field service or 2–3 years as a controls engineer, experience with PLCs/CNC, and familiarity with Siemens automation.

Qualifications

• 5-10 years of field service experience or 2-3 years controls engineer experience
• Ability to lift up to 50lbs
• Ability to work at company or customer facilities, long weeks/second shift
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Experience solving problems and using resourcefulness
• Must meet export control compliance: US person requirement

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair complex industrial control systems (PLCs, CNC controllers, field bus networks)
• Read electrical schematics and use a multi-meter to diagnose circuits
• Coordinate with customers, suppliers and management to align requirements
• Support field service engineers by traveling to customer sites for commissioning, maintenance, upgrades, training
• Follow safety policies and procedures
• Provide input for service bids and quotes
• Automated controls system programming
• Other duties as assigned by management
