Job summary

Ascent Aerospace is seeking a Controls Hardware Engineer to lead the hardware design of automation control systems. You will manage the hardware budget, schedule, and execution, sizing power distribution, motion, and PLC components in collaboration with mechanical design.

You will develop electrical schematics with AutoCAD Electrical, coordinate wiring and panel installs, and provide guidance to electricians and installers. Relevant aerospace experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Export control: US Person per ITAR.
• BS in Electrical or Computer Engineering.
• 2+ years in control system electrical design.
• 5+ years in servo-controlled motion design.
• Experience with aerospace automated equipment integration preferred.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD Electrical.
• PLCs: Allen Bradley or Siemens advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead hardware design in automation control systems.
• Manage project HW budget, schedule, and design implementation.
• Size and specify power, motion, and PLC components.
• Coordinate wiring diagrams and panel installation.
• Provide information to installation team for quality setup.
• Communicate with customers and suppliers on hardware aspects.
