Job summary

KLA in Milpitas seeks a Product Installation Engineer to lead the on-site installation and qualification of complex capital equipment worldwide. You will be the first technical touchpoint with customers, ensuring on-time delivery and successful startup.

Responsibilities include setup, alignment, calibration, verification, and cross-functional collaboration across regions. Significant travel is required to support installations globally, with a focus on quality and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of electronics, optics, mechanical, electro-mechanical, and electro-optical systems.
• Experience with high-vacuum systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Install and qualify advanced KLA systems at customer sites globally, ensuring installations are completed on schedule and meet quality standards
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues during installation by identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions
• Perform setup, alignment, calibration, and verification of highly complex semiconductor capital equipment
• Collaborate cross-functionally with KLA regions, engineering, and customer teams to verify system performance and transfer tool ownership
• Provide clear status updates to all stakeholders throughout the installation process
• Complete installation documentation and administrative requirements accurately and on time
• Secure warranty sign-off on newly installed tools
• Operate independently following documented procedures with cross-cultural collaboration and travel as needed
