Job summary

ATS - Industrial Maintenance in Chicago seeks a field service technician to inspect, troubleshoot, and repair industrial equipment across electro-mechanical and fluid power domains. You will travel to facilities nationwide, observe operation, isolate faults, and repair to spec.

Youll document service reports, partner with customer teams on preventive maintenance, and uphold safety and housekeeping standards on site. PLCs, VFDs, servo motors, and basic hand tools are essential.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED; or equivalent technical experience.
• Associate degree with technical focus plus 5+ years industry experience; or 7+ years industry experience.
• Comfort with basic and specialized hand tools.
• Ability to analyze issues and execute repairs across electro-mechanical and fluid power domains.
• Extensive travel required (local, national, international).

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end service: observe devices in operation, isolate faults, dismantle parts, adjust controls, and repair to spec.
• Troubleshoot across electrical, mechanical, and fluid power systems; leverage control systems to resolve issues.
• Collaborate with customer teams to perform preventive maintenance procedures.
• Identify and stage parts and materials; setup machining operations and welding when needed.
• Capture clear service reports and update management systems after every job.
• Maintain safety, housekeeping, and professional conduct on customer sites.
• Continuously build expertise through on-the-job learning and self-study.
