Quantinuum is seeking a Director of Export & Compliance to lead export control, national security compliance, and broader programs. Location options include CO, MN, or VA with potential hybrid work up to 2 days remote.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree required.
• 10+ years of export control and government compliance experience at technology and defense companies.
• 7+ years managing relationships with BIS, DDTC, OFAC or equivalent government agencies.
• 7+ years with commodity jurisdiction, classification (ECCN/USML), licensing, deemed exports, and voluntary disclosures.
• 7+ years of EAR, ITAR, OFAC sanctions, and related regulatory frameworks.
• U.S. Person status required due to contractual and national security requirements.

Responsibilities

• Own and manage export control compliance program, policies, training, and internal controls.
• Develop long-term export control strategy aligned with business objectives and regulation.
• Lead commodity jurisdiction and classification determinations (ECCN/USML).
• Manage export license applications and license exceptions or exemptions.
• Oversee deemed export compliance and foreign national management.
• Direct screening programs and end-use/end-user assessments.
• Monitor EAR/ITAR/OFAC changes and direct appropriate compliance responses.
• Manage disclosures and respond to government inquiries (BIS, DDTC, OFAC).
• Serve as primary liaison for government regulators on export and national security matters.
• Provide strategic compliance guidance to leadership on expansion, partnerships, and product development.
• Embed compliance practices across engineering, product, and operations.
