Job summary

Samaritan's Purse in Boone, NC or Charlotte, NC seeks an Assistant Director, Global Exoneration and Risk Management) to lead global exoneration and consignee compliance. You will drive governance, risk mitigation, and cost containment across 14 regions and 110+ countries, leveraging HTS and Incoterms expertise while coordinating with regional directors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university.
• 5–7 years in international logistics, customs, or freight forwarding.
• Experience with freight forwarders and international customs brokers.
• Extensive knowledge of HTS, Incoterms, and export/import documentation.
• Experience reducing demurrage, delays, and import costs.
• Ability to lead a team in a complex matrix environment.
• Biblical studies: 12 credit hours (required; can be completed after hire).

Responsibilities

• Develop and lead government relations and exoneration strategy for 14 regions and 110+ countries.
• Oversee consignees, audit processes, and annual registrations for risk mitigation.
• Lead OK to Ship meetings and determine shipment readiness.
• Ensure proper customs clearance and duty exemptions for humanitarian cargo.
• Vet and maintain registered consignees; collaborate with regional directors.
• Inform governance bodies of sanctions and regulatory changes; manage financial risk.
