Job summary

S&P Global Market Intelligence is seeking a senior technology lead to partner with the Head of Technology in shaping the technology direction of a complex, regulated financial-services estate. This hands-on principal engineer and architect role ensures strategy is grounded in engineering reality and operational outcomes.

Qualifications

• 25+ years of experience building and operating systems in tier-1 banks, capital markets infrastructure, or regulated environments.
• Experience setting technology strategy and architecture for complex, regulated platforms in banking/financial services.
• Ability to define multi-year technology roadmaps with clear priorities based on business outcomes and regulatory needs.
• Sets and governs reference architectures, design standards, and architectural guardrails.
• Strong understanding of financial products, data and controls across end-to-end workflows.
• Experience designing distributed, event-driven, data-intensive systems at scale.
• Proficient with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and multi-region, multi-tenant designs.
• Knowledge of AI-enabled systems, explainability, and governance in regulated settings.
• Security and controls embedded in design, with identity and data protection focus.
• Coaches senior engineers and architects through problem solving and design reviews.

• Present technology direction credibly to clients and senior stakeholders.
