Job summary

Lyft is seeking a bright, pragmatic employment attorney with 4+ years of employment counseling and litigation experience to join our global Legal team. You will provide timely, business-minded advice to professionals across Lyft's Employee Relations and People teams, with a focus on compliance with federal, state, and international laws.

The role requires a J.D. from a top-tier school, an active State Bar license, and strong communication and relationship-building skills.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of employment law experience in law firms and/or in-house roles.
• Experience counseling and/or litigating on federal and state anti-discrimination/harassment/retaliation laws (California a plus).
• Active bar in good standing; eligible to practice in the relevant jurisdiction; strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day employment advice and counseling on HR practices, performance management, terminations, leaves, investigations, and accommodations.
• Investigate pre-litigation and litigation matters and coordinate with outside counsel as needed.
• Interpret policies with knowledge of FMLA, ADA, FLSA, NLRA, Title VII, and related laws; advise a global workforce.
