Job summary

Lyft seeks an employment attorney with 4+ years of experience to join its global Legal team. You will counsel professionals across the globe on a wide range of employment matters, including investigations, policy interpretation, and compliance with federal, state, and international laws.

This in-house role is based in Washington DC on a hybrid schedule, collaborating with Employee Relations and People teams to deliver pragmatic, business-minded legal advice while training managers and staff.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of employment law practice at a leading law firm and/or in-house
• Active State Bar in the relevant jurisdiction; top-tier law school degree
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day employment advice and counseling on a broad range of issues
• Investigate pre-litigation and litigation matters and coordinate with outside counsel
• Interpret policies and procedures in light of state, federal, and international employment laws
• Provide legal counsel to a global workforce and partner with Employee Relations and People teams
• Develop processes to ensure compliance with applicable laws and deliver training to managers and employees
• Monitor developments in employment law across jurisdictions and advise accordingly
