Job summary

Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP seeks a Manager, Global Employment Compliance in New York (hybrid). The role oversees firmwide compliance with employment laws, mandatory training, and handbook policy implementation.

You will respond to government requests and client audits while centralizing compliance across offices. You will lead a high-performance team, monitor evolving employment regulations, and partner with the General Counsel to assess impacts of changes.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of HR principles and regulations, with law firm experience.
• Functional knowledge of HRIS data and reporting.
• Experience drafting and reviewing employee handbooks.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Excellent verbal and written communication with stakeholders, management and attorneys.
• Strong analytical, data analysis, planning and project management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coach a high-performance compliance team aligned with firm objectives.
• Monitor and analyze evolving federal, state and local employment requirements.
• Recommend strategies to ensure compliance with new laws and communicate impact to stakeholders.
• Coordinate with GC to determine responses to new regulatory requirements and prepare impact analyses.
• Collaborate with HRIS and other departments to update processes and systems for compliance.
• Stay informed on industry trends and emerging legislation.
• Draft and revise handbook policies reflecting legal changes and manage annual acknowledgements.
• Coordinate with international offices to ensure local regulatory compliance across offices.
• Oversee annual harassment training and other required compliance training.
• Maintain ongoing compliance with reporting and safety plan requirements.
